“I’ll be right there.” “I’m almost done.” “I’ll get back to you soon.” Unfortunately, I make-and break-a dozen promises a day. This is the kind of promise Eternal God has made to his people. Beyond the parameters of time as we know it.

All the way back and all the way forward. “Forever” means eternity in both directions. “I know that everything God does will endure forever” (Ecclesiastes 3:14). It’s a promise that’s already been fulfilled in him and by him. Not maybe, not probably, not shoulda, woulda, coulda. If we think any government in the world can provide it, we are fooling ourselves. If we look for lasting peace elsewhere, we won’t find it. He is only One who can make the promise that’s about to unfold. I’ll try not to wear you out with this, but seriously, every word matters. Just sixteen words in this verse, but every one packed with hope. And he calls us to sing a song of praise simply because he is worthy of it. But for God’s people, he promises peace in the eye of the storm. If ever we needed an encouraging word, it’s this week. Tornadoes have claimed too many loved ones, demolished too many homes, torn apart too many lives. Then, when you come into a situation where you don’t know what to do, the wisdom of God will rise up within you. Meditation on the word of God will release peace to you. Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. You will have peace about doing things that you are know are right because they line up with the Scriptures. When you know the Word of God, you’ll have peace to say “no” to things that other people are saying “yes” to. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Make the Word of God the compass that guides your life. When we automatically run to Him and keep our minds on Him, we will walk in His supernatural peace. God wants to speak to you and He wants you to speak to Him. Why? I am constantly developing friendship with God. Other times, God will tell me warnings about people. Throughout my day, when I meet people, God will tell me secrets about them and I can give them keys and share His voice with them. I’m not perfect at this, but I’m developing it.

I’m living a life where I’m conscious of God at all times. I tell people I’m either praying all the time or I’m not. In this place, you know God’s presence is around you all the time. I like to call this “God Consciousness.” It’s a constant awareness of His goodness and His love for you. Develop a lifestyle where where you think about the Lord and mediate on Him all throughout the day.
